Back from Hiatus, Father’s Day, BlogtoProfit, Korean Drama, Dasmarinas

Howdy Everyone! Thanks so much to my cyberfriends who left comments especially to Tina who regularly fed me with quotes while I was away. As promised, I will bloghop to your cyberhomes today.

BACK FROM HIATUS

I’m back from hiatus/blogging holiday! Although, technically, it’s the country’s Independence Day today, WE celebrated it yesterday. I’m not used to the idea of advancing the celebration, but it was mandated by the government.

Surely, my fingers missed talking here at fingertalks. I also missed bloghopping to the cyberhomes of my online friends. Whoa! What else did I miss? I missed leaving messages at the tagboards, welcoming my new community members, replying to comments, adding new links to my fingertalks’ blogroll, and also to my MyBlogLog Community Blogroll, answering memes, replying to emails, and a lot more.

FATHER’S DAY

We celebrated Father’s Day in advance, June 8, because Dad and my youngest brother, Impin, left for the province last June 9. I’d just call Dad on the 17th then to greet him. I am thinking of what to give him this Father’s Day.

KOREAN DRAMA

I also watched a Korean Drama, “Which Star Are You From” for two days (in between my breaks) ~ 16 hours to be exact.

The film, “Which Star Are You From” is also popularly known as “What Planet Are You From”. The lead characters were played by Jeong Ryeo-Won’s of My Name is Kim Sam-Soon, and Kim Rae-Won of Attic Cat. It has an enjoyable storyline. The story is about a man, Kim, or Choi Seung-Hee, a young director who fell in love for a pair of sisters (one dead, one living) both played by Jeong or Lee Hye-su (dead sister), or as Kim Bok-shil (living sister). Kim Bok-shil has two mothers, adoptive and biological mothers. To cut the long story short, it’s a romantic comedy that will warm your heart, make you laugh and cry at the same time. The scenes, actions of the lovers would definitely pinch your heart, make you relate to their hopeless romantic gestures, encourage you to go for your dreams, celebrate life with your mother, adoptive or biological, follow your heart, take risks, and a lot more. It’s definitely a must see DRAMA. This romantic comedy series is currently aired in the Philippine Television, but I got no time to view it during day time. I opted to watch it instead through a DVD copy.

For an overview of the said film, you may read it here.

Inspired by this Korean Drama, I took the “What Planet Are You From” quiz.

You Are From Jupiter

You are exuberantly curious - and you love to explore newness.
Enthusiastic and optimistic, you get a kick out of stimulating intellectual discussions.Foreign cultures and languages fascinate you. You love the outdoors, animals, and freedom.Chances are you tend to exaggerate, so try to keep a lid on that.If you do, you’ll continue to be known for your confidence, generosity, and sense of justice.

What Planet Are You From? exaggerated daw ako? LOL. The quiz lied…

Welcome back, sis! Naku oo nga tagal mo nawala. Thank God ok naman lahat sayo. Except for that Dasma incident.

I believe you should fax a letter to theEmbassy asking them to authorize you to enter Dasma Village. And have the letter faxed back to you with the proper signature of whoever it is authorized to sign these things. Tapos present that to the guard. Baka that will do the trick :)

Goodluck sis. Kaya nyo ni hubby yan :)

    Happy Tuesday!

Thanks for the warm welcome, sis! Been busy with lots of things…yeah, this Dasma incident’s so disheartening…ouch!

Thanks sis. I followed ur tip sis, but to no avail. They wouldn’t want to issue a schedule through fax messages. The thing is, we should have a contact there at Dasma. My contact there, Ate Jing, is already living in the States..

    Happy Tuesday, sis!

welcome back! the Embassy/Dasmarinas Village thingey is kinda frustrating. i wonder how the KE is able to do its business efficiently and effectively.

as to Father’s Day–thanks, but no thanks, to Starbucks diary–that gave us the confusion, It said June 10 is Father’s Day. me and one of my daughters were up till 4 am trying to put up a Father’s Day Post, she greeted her dad at 6 am, only to be told that Father’s Day is on 17th. true, true, according to Wikipedia, Father’s day in Phils and some other countries falls on 3rd sunday of June, July in other countries, March 19 for Christians, a few weeks ago in Germany, etc. etc.

I hope your vsas will be stamped so that you and your husband could start your future there. Good Luck!

I am not really a fan of KOREAN Dramas. I dunno. My mom and youngest bro are so keen on watching it. Para kasi pare-pareho ang itsura nila. (LOL!)

    Still a hopeless romantic, I see :)

I’m avoiding these types of dvds because knowing myself, I’d probably be oblivious to everything else until I finish the whole series, up to the last episode, hehe.

As to the mbassy issue - how on earth can people transact with them in that situation? Can’t they themselves see the problem? Perhaps they should have a satellite office in the business district where such official business can be done.

    Thanks Tita!

True. I couldn’t imagine it when they told me that everyone’s welcome to come to the Embassy..however, it’s up to the individual to get a way on how to pass through the guards of Dasma. We’ve been to Dasma gate for three times now but still to no avail. It pisses us off now. So much waste in our time, effort, and money.

Re: the starbucks’diary - yay, they should have double-checked the date. yes, usually, father’s day falls on the 3rd Sunday of June. It usually falls on or before the bday of my brother. it’s been my guide to remember Father’s Day.

Have a happy Wednesday! I’d like to link your URL, tita? Thanks in advance.

    hi jho!

    thanks for the warm welcome.

yeah, i hope, too, that a MIRACLE will happen tomorrow. Stamping of visas is only from Monday to Thursday, 9-11 a.m. Imagine that, it’s ok if the time is limited..as long as we could easily pass through the gate. Sometimes I wish I am invisible. super powers!

am so fond of watching Korean films. Even though they portray so much drama, still the feeling after watching them is light…they know how to properly mix comedy, drama, etc., unlike…:) hihihi

    have a happy Wednesday, Jho!

    hi Maia,

    yay! yes, still.. hehe..

i do lack consciousness of time when I watch these kinds of DVDs. last sem, even though I was so busy at the gradschool, I watched a Korean Drama for 17 hrs…9 and 8 hrs straight respectively. Oh, my,

As to the Vs issue, it’s getting to my nerves na. We’ve been trying to access the gate for three times na..I’m still not losing hope. We’ve been through a lot for the past months just preparing for our papers. This issue with them wouldn’t stop us. he he. What I don’t understand is why people should suffer for their indifference.

You’re right. They should have a satellite office…well, if the Dasma’s concern is to give them a list of scheduled visitors to the embassy, a satellite office to do this thing is very much helpful.

Have a happy Wednesday, still! Cheers!

    hi tina!

hallloo! yeah, special mention.. :) thanks for missing my talking fingers. your kind words and others’ comments inspires me to blog. :)

actually, this is my first time to experience such. i’ve been to other embassies and i never experienced any difficulty. maybe the embassy could transfer to another location, the policy of which wouldn’t be as strict as the Dasma’s. I don’t know…

    Cheers! have a happy day!
