World’s 10 most corrupt leaders

February 25, 2008

We had a pretty rich and interesting discussion of the world history, i.e., after our brainstorming of our project at the office. Until I reached home, I was thinking about what we just discussed at the office.

I do enjoy learning more about world history, actually refreshing my memory about it. While trying to study online about the world history awhile ago, I came across this amazing fact about the world’s 10 most corrupt leaders. I got intrigued by it because according to the data presented, two of the top 10 most corrupt leaders were from the Philippines! I decided to drop down my online reading of the world history, and started drafting my thoughts about the topic at hand.

Who’s more corrupt? Our previous president or the current president that we have? Or any other suggestion, please? :p It might be good to run a poll here. :p

Seriously…

I don’t agree with the data. I think there are still many leaders out there who’d be considered as more corrupt than (esp.) #2 and #10, but aren’t publicized and sensationalized by m*dia.

Anyhoot, in my free time, I’d study about the world history. This means that I’d post here some good finds about the World. This is also a way of making my online life productive.

I learn while I surf.

It’s past 2 a.m. now. OMG. I think I’m having insomnia again. Hubi just ordered from KFC. Good thing it’s still open up to 4 a.m. here. If you haven’t read yet my previous post , here’s the link, playful tickle.

I disagree! How could they have missed Robert Mugabe, president of Zimbabwe who brought about a 1.5 million percent inflation rate, the highest in the world! Or Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan who has killed hundreds of thousands of his own countrymen? Compared to these guys, Erap and Marcos were amateurs! (found you from the frontpage of http://whatsikat.com)

hi p.

The figures came from 2004 data. I wonder if there’s a revised survey for the world’s corrupt leaders. i guess, he’d be included…and, another leader from our country would be included in the honor roll. hehe

February 26, 2008

oh thanks. i visited whatsikat. great site! kudos.

February 26, 2008

sis, la pa xa dyan. oo nga ano? haay. pero am sure na mas marami pang iba siguro na mas mataas ang nakuhang pera kesa sa #2 at #10. di lang publicized. hehe.

thanks sa mga awards!

God that’s embarrassing: not only is the Philippines’ president still the 2nd on the list even though he’s been out of power for a while now. And to top that off, there’s a second Filipino president on the list?!! And people always ask me how I could say that I could never live there!

Hi Fingertalks,
I agree with you that Marcos and Estrada could have been tried by publicity. I think there are other more corrupt officials in the world
that were not yet unearthed. Regarding our present President, she is the most corrupt of all and has the gall to show a semblance of religiosity. Her claim for the economic growth of our country is nothing more than the billions of dollars remitted by our OFWs who are even shortchanged by our own government agencies. Thanks for your post. God bless you and your family always.

Ok - is there a way for me to become President in those countries? Certainly I’m only interested in the wealth of these countries. I would be satisfied with only a few millions.

February 28, 2008

Oh there is no place for Bangladesh!! I heard that they got first place in corruption for last 5 years :)

February 28, 2008

yup. really embarrassing. :p

but i think there are still others who r more corrupt than our 2 pres. hehe.

February 28, 2008

hi bro.mel,

yup it’s true. kawawa nga mga OFWs. sana naman ay maging ok na ang pinas.

i wonder what would happen there tom. feb29.

thanks for dropping by. have a nice day always. God bless!

February 28, 2008

lol.

if only these presidents would give everyone the money that they keep among themselves…

February 28, 2008

oh too bad. i wish there’s an updated version of the data…we’ll see. hehe. but i guess it all boils down on which country publicizes the illegally-gotten wealth and which doesn’t…woot. corruption. can there be an end to it?
