Obama won! A tearful, happy morning!
Today's US election has been historical. Everyone around the world was involved. If I had been an American citizen, I'd have voted for Sen. Barack Obama as well.
I woke up this morning a little anxious to know who the next US president is. I'd agree with Sen. McCain's speech that «The American people have spoken and they have spoken clearly». I think it's true, the American people is now ready for the big change in their lifetime. This victory of Obama isn't just for the American people. It's true for all people worldwide. The United States of America, being the powerful country in the whole wide world, needs a president who isn't just a president of the USA alone, but for the whole world where disparity and racial discrimination are rampant. I believe that Sen. Obama is destined for this role of presidency.
I was both thrilled and tearful as I witnessed the crying, jumping, shouting of Sen. Obama's supporters. I cheered for them as well and cried with them as I watched them over the Yahoo videos. I felt their immense love and support for Obama. Prior to three days of the US election, I prayed with all my heart for the American voters, and the candidates that they'd be able to choose well the best person that's destined to bring CHANGE and FREEDOM for all.
In my own little ways, I had been and would forever be an OBAMA supporter. Now that everything has been settled in the country I longed to visit, the USA, once in my lifetime (I still don't know where my growing family should settle), the thought that OBAMA is the next US president, brings me confidence that I would love to live in the USA), I am praying also that THE SAME CHANGE WOULD HAPPEN IN MY VERY OWN COUNTRY, the Philippines.
2010 Philippine presidential election is forthcoming. Will there ever be change in how elections are conducted, in how people vote? Will there be vote-buying, adding and scrapping of votes, too much killings during elections? I HOPE NOT. I believe that as the American people have elected the president who will lead them for CHANGE and VICTORY, this historical election, the journey itself, and the lessons learned would transcend to all those countries seeking for CHANGE, as well.
I wish to meet My Obama someday, and congratulate him for touching not just so many people's lives and hopes, but me, as well. Kudos to you and to your family! Kudos to all American people (all races)! Kudos to the World!
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. ~ Maria Robinson

WELL DONE!!!!! My friend is American and he stayed up the whole night to watch the results... he was thrilled as well!!
Let´s hope he doesn´t end up on «the worst presidents ever» list, the way Bush did!

Yes, it's a relief that there is change in the Whitehouse, but the economy is in such a state I'm not sure whether much will change for the better.
PS love your background music - it caught me by surprise as the bird noises fading in - but a pleasant surprise though
